"sometimes i fall
but i've seen it done before
i've got to step outside these walls."
it wasn't easy to leave the safe haven that was my secondary school. yes, so i came from a neighbourhood school, but i left that school with memories&friends that i would never even have dreamed of having had i not been posted there those few years ago.
just today Asyraf sent me the video that Qudsia&Siewhong made last year for our teachers for Teachers' Day. watching the video made me tear up, because behind each picture lay a special memory, embedded in my heart. i still remember vividly the days leading up to Teachers' Day, &the day itself.
Teachers' Day of 2006
who could forget all the fuss over the class tees? which design to use, where to put what, which material, what colour, how much? but in the end, we got everything settled, &the class tees were done just a day before the actual day! (((:
then there was the class decoration. almost the whole class stayed back&worked together to hang crepe paper from every place possible, even the fans (the guys did that, but the girls, in good taste, took it down from the fan). &when the class tees were finally delivered to us, the boys rushed to the toilet&proudly donned our beautiful class tees. we even had girls&guys versions!
on the actual day, people started coming to class while it was still dark outside. everyone was pumped up even though it was so early in the morning, &we were rushing about trying to get things done&ensure that everything would be perfect for our teachers. they deserve nothing but the best, i swear.
when the teachers finally arrived (we gave them invitations made by Cherine W.), we played the class video. &as each teacher's name&photo appeared on the screen, we gave them their presents. last but by no means least, Mr. Sebastian Lee's picture came up&we gave him his huge present(((: it was hard work to get that Class Board done, but i'd really do anything for this class.
then there was the food, much of it cooked by Asyraf's mum, the cake, talking&playing&goodness knows what else. (((:
it was a blast. the class spirit&unity was what made it possible. the admiration for our teachers&our need to show our appreciation for all their hard work fueled us even more. everyone really had a good time, &i do believe nobody will forget it.

who could forget our fishtanks?
who could forget when the fishtank broke?
who could forget Mastura being chased by Asiq with a bucket of slime?
who could forget Asiq slipping&falling while chasing her?
who could forget the X-Boxes during the Teachers' Day of 05'?
who could forget our class chalet this year?
who could forget when someone called us the worst class?
who could forget how we were endlessly persecuted by certain figures in the school?
who could forget our class photo with Mr. Lee's bike in it?
who could forget Mr. Low's constant reminders to file our worksheets?
who could forget Raefaath's&Asyraf's antics in F&N class that drove Miss Goh mad?
who could forget playing stupid games in class when we were supposed to be studying?
who could forget Mr. Han telling stories in that hot, stuffy classroom?
who could forget Mr. Quek??
who could forget Mr. Choo&his floor-sweeping?
who could forget Rae licking Asiq's soccer boots&drinking the fishtank water?
who could forget Class 4C of 2006?

now we've all moved on from our Punggol Sec days. no more donning that ugly green uniform, no more ponning classes&hiding in the toilets, no more sabo-ing Mastura, no more trying to pon class, no more Asiq tossing fish in the air, no more...
i could go on for hours, i really could. as Asyraf said, there are so many memories all crammed in my head.
we now are walking our different paths, but it doesn't mean that we will have to part. when there's a will, there's a way, &4C has a hell of a lot of will power! (((:
i love SAJC, i love my friends there, but nothing, nothing will ever match up to Class 4C of 2006.
a jigsaw is not complete;
without every piece in it.
